Local SEO case study
Building commercial search visibility for Driveways & Patios Dublin
From a newly built website to sustained first-page visibility across high-intent paving, patio and driveway searches.
Webiwant designed and launched the Driveways & Patios Dublin website in March 2024.
The objective was not simply to create an attractive online presence. The website needed to become a structured lead-generation platform capable of reaching customers searching for specific services, materials and contractors across Dublin.
Business impact
Visibility connected to real customer enquiries
Rankings matter, but the ultimate objective is to help potential customers discover the business and request a quotation.
Calls per month from Google Business Profile
Average monthly call activity recorded through the company’s Google Business Profile.
Website quote requests per month
Approximate monthly enquiries submitted through the website’s quotation form.
Call figures are based on Google Business Profile performance data. Quote-request figures are based on the client’s reported website enquiries. Results can vary according to season and market conditions.
The starting point
A website built from the ground up in March 2024
The project began without an established website structure or a portfolio of indexed service and location pages.
Webiwant created the website, organised its core services and developed the foundations needed for long-term local search visibility.
At launch, the business did not yet have its current coverage across paving services, materials, locations, completed projects and customer questions.
The challenge was therefore broader than improving existing rankings. It was to create the digital architecture through which the business could progressively become visible.
The website, its service architecture and its local SEO presence were developed as one connected growth project.
The challenge
Customers search by service, material, problem and location
A potential customer does not always begin with the same generic search.
One person may look for a patio contractor in Dublin. Another may search for a tarmac driveway, cobblelock paving, drainage work, resurfacing or driveway pricing.
Some customers search for the service first. Others start with a material, a specific problem or a location.
A single generic services page cannot respond effectively to all these different intentions.
At the same time, creating too many similar pages can lead to thin content, keyword cannibalisation and a confusing website structure.
The challenge was to expand search coverage without sacrificing clarity, quality or commercial relevance.
Our approach
A structured local SEO ecosystem
The strategy connected services, locations, completed projects, technical optimisation and useful supporting content.
Website architecture
The website was organised around clearly defined services and commercially relevant customer journeys from the outset.
Service pages
Dedicated pages were created or developed for patios, driveway paving, cobblelock, tarmac, drainage, resurfacing and related work.
Local landing pages
Relevant Dublin areas were targeted with useful pages reflecting the services available and completed work in each location.
Completed projects
Real installations were turned into search assets featuring the work completed, materials used, location and project photography.
Internal linking
Services, local pages, project examples and supporting articles were connected to create a clearer topical structure.
Technical SEO
Indexing, structured data, page hierarchy, mobile usability and performance were reviewed as the site expanded.
Commercial content
Cost, drainage, material and installation content was developed to support customers before they requested a quotation.
Google Business Profile
Local search visibility was supported through an optimised business profile connected to the company’s services and website.
Ongoing refinement
Rankings, overlapping pages, new opportunities and changing search behaviour continue to be reviewed over time.

Supporting evidence
Third-party search visibility data
The rankings are supported by an independent SE Ranking report showing commercially relevant search terms and their recorded positions in Google Ireland.
A broader search footprint
Visibility beyond one page or one keyword
The strategy gives the business several ways to appear throughout the customer’s research and selection process.
Services
Patio installation, driveway paving, resurfacing, drainage and related contractor searches.
Materials
Cobblelock, tarmac, concrete, permeable paving and other material-specific searches.
Commercial research
Pricing, cost comparisons, installation options and searches made before requesting a quotation.
Local targeting
Dublin-wide visibility combined with area-specific searches such as Dublin 15 and individual suburbs.
Client perspective
“Webiwant built the website and has helped us become visible for many of the paving and driveway services we offer across Dublin. The website now presents our work much more clearly and brings us regular calls and quotation requests from potential customers.”
Measuring modern SEO
Commercial visibility matters more than traffic alone
Search performance can no longer be judged by total organic visits in isolation.
Google and generative AI platforms increasingly answer informational questions without requiring a website click.
We therefore place greater emphasis on visibility for commercial searches, local discovery, calls, quote requests and the pages used by customers when selecting a contractor.
- Commercial keyword visibility
- Dublin service rankings
- Google Business Profile calls
- Website quote requests
- Service area coverage
- Completed-project visibility
The outcome
A search presence built around how customers choose a contractor
The website now provides multiple relevant ways for potential customers to discover the company.
Core service visibility
Dedicated pages compete for the principal driveway, patio and paving services offered by the company.
Material-led searches
The website appears for cobblelock, tarmac, concrete, drainage and other specific customer requirements.
Local market coverage
Dublin and area-specific pages create relevant entry points for customers looking for a nearby contractor.
Commercial enquiries
Google Business Profile calls and website quote requests connect search visibility with genuine opportunities for new work.
The result is not a website dependent on one ranking, but an expanding system of services, locations, projects and commercial content that supports long-term local visibility.
The business behind the rankings
Real projects customers are actively searching for
Search visibility is valuable when it connects the right customer with a service the business genuinely provides. These completed projects show the quality and type of work customers can review before requesting a quotation.
A transferable framework
What this means for other trade businesses
The exact services differ, but the local customer journey is often similar.
A customer identifies a need, searches for a local specialist, compares providers, looks for evidence and requests a quote.
Webiwant adapts the framework to each business, its services, its locations and the way customers search within its market.
